Create your first agent

Describe what your agent should do, test it in the test console, and publish it so it can take real conversations.

You create an agent by describing its job in plain words. Voicello builds a first version from that, you review and test it, and then you publish it. Nothing answers real visitors until you publish.

Before you start

You need a Voicello account and a workspace where you are allowed to create agents. If the dashboard says you do not have access, ask a workspace admin.

Describe the job

  1. Start a new agent

Open the new agent screen. It asks one question: What should your agent do?

  2. Describe the job in your own words

Write it the way you would explain the job to a new hire. Say who the agent talks to, what it should help them do, and when it should bring in a person. A few clear sentences are enough.

  3. Create the agent

Choose Create my agent. Voicello turns your description into a first version and opens it for review.

Review what was built

The Review your agent screen shows everything the agent will do, grouped into sections. Each row can be edited.

SectionWhat it holds
Goal and audienceThe agent's main goal and who it serves
ResponsibilitiesThe jobs it takes on
BehaviourHow it sounds and how much it leads the conversation
Information to collectWhat it asks a visitor for, if anything
KnowledgeThe information it can answer from, and what it should never say
When it isn't sureSafe defaults, such as not inventing information. You can turn any of them off
Bringing in a personWhen and how it hands a conversation to your team
Voice and modelsWhat the agent sounds like, and whose credentials it runs on

Read each section and fix anything that does not match your business. When it looks right, choose Continue to test. You can come back and change any of this later.

Test it

The Test & publish step has a test console. Choose Start test, allow the microphone, and talk to the agent as a visitor would. The transcript shows what it heard and what it said.

Try the questions your real visitors ask, including one the agent should not answer. If something is off, go back a step, change it, and test again. A test always uses your latest changes, even ones you have not published.

Publish it

Under Ready to publish, Voicello lists what it checked.

  • A problem that blocks publishing has to be fixed first. The line says where, for example under Voice and models on the previous step.
  • A note is a suggestion, such as adding knowledge or a greeting. You can publish without acting on it.

When the checks pass, choose the Publish button, which carries your agent's name. The agent is now live.

To change a live agent, open it, edit it, and publish again. The live version keeps answering until you do, and publishing replaces it.
